Fuel System Diagnosis & Repair

The fuel system delivers a precisely metered amount of fuel under controlled pressure. When it underperforms — pump, regulator, injectors, filter — the engine runs poorly, starts hard, or refuses to start at all.

Common symptoms

  • "The car is hard to start"
  • "Fuel economy has gotten much worse"
  • "The engine runs rough at idle"
  • "I smell fuel near the car"

What we check

  1. 01 Static and running fuel pressure
  2. 02 Fuel pump operation and current draw
  3. 03 Fuel-filter restriction or service history where applicable
  4. 04 Injector command, balance, leak-down, and pulse data where supported
  5. 05 Fuel pressure regulator behavior under load

Gasoline fuel systems and selected diesel fuel-system concerns can be tested and serviced. High-pressure diesel diagnosis and repair depend on the vehicle, access, safety requirements, and required tooling. Availability is confirmed before service.

Many fuel-system repairs are suitable for mobile service, depending on component access and safe fuel-handling conditions.

If there is a strong fuel odor or a visible fuel leak, do not start or drive the vehicle.

A note on shop equipment

Some repairs cannot be completed safely at a mobile location. After the diagnostic, we will tell you whether the work can be done on-site or whether shop equipment is required, before any repair begins.
