01 Diagnostic scan of available modules, including stored, pending, and permanent codes, readiness-monitor status, and signs that codes may have been recently cleared where that information is available
02 Engine condition: leaks, sounds, smoke, coolant and oil condition
03 Transmission operation under load, fluid condition where accessible
04 Suspension and steering: bushings, ball joints, tie rods, struts, ride height
05 Brakes: pads, rotors, brake fluid, ABS function
06 Visible structural areas, body panels, glass, tires, and signs of previous collision or repair work
